The Minecraft 1.21.90 Update is now officially live, introducing an exciting array of new features, improvements, and gameplay additions for Bedrock Edition. From new rideable mobs to visual enhancements and music updates, this release brings fresh ways to experience the Minecraft universe.
New Mobs and Creatures
Dried Ghast:
Found in Nether Fossil structures or crafted using Soul Sand and 8 Ghast Tears. When placed in water, it eventually spawns a Ghastling. Dried Ghasts can also be obtained via Piglin bartering. Unlock the new achievement “Stay Hydrated!” by successfully reviving one.
Ghastling:
A small, passive floating mob that slowly grows over time. Feed it Snowballs to help it evolve into a Happy Ghast, or use commands to summon it instantly. Ghastlings are non-hostile and follow nearby mobs.
Happy Ghast:
A large, rideable flying mob capable of carrying up to four players. Only the first player can control it. Equip it with the new Harness item to mount. It regenerates faster in cloudy or rainy weather and can be dismounted by crouching.
New Items and Components
Harness:
Crafted from 3 Leather, 2 Glass, and 1 Wool. It allows you to mount a Happy Ghast. The Harness can be dyed and removed with Shears.
Craftable Saddles:
Players can now craft Saddles using Leather and Iron Ingots. These Saddles can be removed with Shears and reused. in the new Minecraft 1.21.90 Update.
Advanced Leashing:
New leash mechanics allow chaining multiple mobs and leashing to node blocks. This significantly improves mob control and farming strategies.
Visual and HUD Enhancements
Locator Bar:
Now part of the core HUD. Shows other players’ locations, making multiplayer coordination easier than ever.
Vibrant Visuals:
A new default graphics mode for supported devices. Features enhanced lighting, dynamic fog, realistic clouds, and more immersive textures. Offers a cinematic look without changing core mechanics.
Music and Audio
The Minecraft 1.21.90 Update introduces five new background tracks for biomes like Cherry Grove, Desert, Forest, Grove, and Lush Caves. A new disc titled “Tears” by Amos Roddy is also available, obtained by deflecting a Ghast’s fireball.
